Our Story

The Knox Furniture Ministry was started by several Knoxville agencies and churches to minister to those transitioning from homelessness by providing basic furnishings to begin new lives. Originally, those agencies and churches provided these basic needs independently.  Then, in 2014, an opportunity arose for the independent ministries to band together so they could more effectively serve families in crisis. On February 22, 2014, the small ministries consolidated their separate holdings of furniture into one large warehouse.  Since then, furniture has been delivered to needy families every Saturday morning (and sometimes during the week as well) on a rotating basis by Central Baptist Church of Bearden, Apostles Anglican Church, West Towne Christian Church, West Park Baptist Church, The Church at Knoxville and Cornerstone Church of God.

The Knox Furniture Ministry would not exist without the generous support of people who donate furniture, time, and money.  There are many faithful volunteers who work diligently to deliver furniture and do whatever is necessary to maintain the ministry. We are  blessed to partner with community agencies that are dedicated to the care of the families we serve.  Our local churches endeavor to shine the hope and eternal love of Jesus Christ our Lord, to those we serve.
